Weather trend - Still settled and mainly dry, with cloud, mist and some sunny spells

Weather trend
Settled conditions continue

A broad area of high pressure is set to remain influential throughout the week, bringing more calm, but often grey conditions for many.

You might have noticed it already, our current weather pattern is very 'static', meaning that there isn't much movement in the atmosphere across northwestern Europe.

As such, widespread low cloud as well as some mist or fog can be expected over the next couple of days.

Still, as has been the case in recent days, some areas may see sunny spells, and it should stay dry except for a few drizzly showers.

Temperatures will show little change from what we have seen either, with daytime values mostly close to average, while nights may be on the chilly side wherever any clear spells develop.

Looking ahead, a slow pattern change seems likely this coming weekend as Atlantic low pressure approaches from the west.

From Sunday onwards, rain and stronger winds may become more prevalent, although the details of this transition are still unclear at this stage.
