Weather trend
Turning very unsettled and wet

While southeastern parts of England will see some fine weather at times, most regions can expect much more unsettled and wet conditions into the start of October.

Through Wednesday, we will see a bit of northwest-southeast split in the weather.

Eastern and southern England may see some longer spells of dry and fine weather initially, with little in the way of rainfall.

Meanwhile, frontal systems will affect most of Ireland, Wales, northwestern England as well as Scotland, with frequent spells of rain or drizzle.

Western Scotland may even see some heavy and persistent rain once again, potentially leading to some local flooding later in the week.

Temperatures meanwhile will be mild overall in a southwesterly flow, and daytime highs may even reach 18 or 19°C in any bright or sunny interludes.

Later in the week, what is currently still Hurricane HUMBERTO is then expected to develop into a powerful Atlantic storm system closer to home.

It may affect western and northern parts of the UK and Ireland in particular, but the exact track and intensity are still uncertain at this stage.

Looking ahead into next week, things are likely to remain very changeable, with rain or showers at times as well as strong westerly or southwesterly winds.

Temperatures meanwhile remain fairly mild in general, including at night, with the risk of any frost being very low.
