Though still unsettled - Winter warmth as mild air returns

After a short period of patchy snow and freezing temperatures, things are picking up into the weekend as spring beckons.

Daily highs for Saturday look set to reach the mid-teens, with East Anglia and parts of south-east England seeing the best of the winter heat up to around 15 °C, while Dublin is up to around 14 °C.

Despite the warmth, a fresh rain front is set to move in from the Atlantic pushing across Ireland from around midday and across the UK for the evening.

General conditions also remain gusty into the weekend with plenty of cloud meaning it's not quite yet time to bask in the spring sunshine.
