Weekend outlook
Windy start but growing warmer

A windy Saturday with rain to the north.

The weekend brings pleasant conditions for much of the UK and Ireland, still changeable in some areas, before getting warmer in the week to come.

Saturday is mainly dry with sunny spells to the west and south; slightly more changeable further north and north-east where scattered showers are possible.

Winds are still gusting in northern England and most of Scotland thanks to low-pressure sat over Scandinavia.

Sunday continues the theme as a high pressure ridge begins to build. A few left over showers remain to the north and east of the UK thanks to a northwesterly flow. Best of the sun found across the south-west and south coast.

Temperatures remain around average, or just above in some parts, before cloud builds across western Ireland thanks to some rainfall moving in from the Atlantic early next week.

Later, around Wednesday, though still windy and showery in northern areas, it begins to warm in the south.
