Weekend outlook
Foggy mornings with a touch of frost

Saturday morning weather map showing fog across the UK and Ireland, scattered blue rain patches too, and temperatures of 3 to 9°C.
That isn't cloud on the WeatherRadar, but widespread fog.

Foggy mornings are expected, with frost developing in places on Sunday as autumnal conditions take hold.

The morning fog will be one of the more noticeable features of the weekend. Fog will initially cover large parts of England and Wales and Saturday morning before becoming widespread across Ireland on Sunday morning, while also persisting in parts of the UK.

The fog will lift by the afternoon in most areas on both days, though with showers passing through much of the UK. It is only towards sunset that more widespread sunshine spreads across southern England and the southern coasts of Ireland.

On Sunday, the risk of light showers becomes more confined to eastern and southern Scotland into northern England. Elsewhere, conditions will remain generally dull, with extensive cloud cover across central areas and across Wales and Ireland. Showers may still form along coastal areas.

Winds remain light, though Sunday is likely to begin with frost in rural areas. Temperatures will fall to around 2°C in eastern England, and is similarly chilly in parts of central Wales.

Into the new week, fog is likely to return for Monday morning, though conditions remain settled across the UK and Ireland. By Tuesday, there are signs of windier conditions making a comeback.
