Weather trend
More changeable, still warm at times

The new week will start on a fresher note as Atlantic air sweeps away the heat. With the cooler air comes a more unsettled spell of weather through the end of the month.

Cooler air will push southeastwards on Sunday already, bringing some relief from the hot weather, though East Anglia and southeast England could still see temperatures up to 27 or 28°C.

Monday will feel very different everywhere, with a fresh westerly wind bringing in a mixture of sunny spells and a few showers.

Temperatures are expected to be around or just below normal for the time of year.

Tuesday looks set to be slightly changeable, with some bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, these mainly affecting Ireland as well as northern and western parts of Britain.

Additional weather fronts could then affect us around mid-week next week, bringing more rain or showers, with some models also suggesting fairly windy conditions at times as well.

Into next weekend and early July, things are likely to remain slightly unsettled, with regular spells of rain or showers affecting the north and west in particular.

Nevertheless, southern and southeastern parts of the UK could see some very warm and sunny days in between, too, as the heat is never far away across the continent.

This general trend is likely to persist in early July, with the south and east generally seeing more in the way of dry and warm weather.
