Weather trend: Cooler and more changeable pattern, with more frequent rain or showers

Weather trend
Cooler, more changeable end to the month

After a fine and often very warm start to the week, the pattern is going to change, with much more unsettled conditions through the end of the month.

Tuesday and Wednesday will already be fairly unsettled, with a mixture of some sunshine and showers or longer spells of rain at times.

Temperatures are expected to fall back to average or just below average values for the time of year, but it will still feel warm in any sunny spells.

Atlantic low pressure then remains influential through the second half of this week, with further fronts likely to move across Ireland and the UK.

Drier and brighter spells are however likely in between as well.

Overall, this changeable pattern looks set to remain in place until at least the end of the month. This means that most parts of the British and Irish Isles will see a fair amount of rain through this period.

This rain may be welcomed in some parts of the country given the often dry conditions we have seen this summer.

Things could also get rather windy at times as low pressure systems move past, with some gusty winds possible especially around the next weekend.

While details are unclear at this stage, the trend for the first week of September continues to suggest fairly changeable and at times relatively cool weather for most of us.
