Breakfast brief
Warm in the east, rain in the west

Fresher in the west as rain tracks in, but still clinging on to some of that heat in the west.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, preparing you for the day's weather, and offering a sneak peek at today's articles.

Weather outlook

Bands of persistent rain will slowly edge in from the west during the day, bringing some blustery winds. In the wake of the rain too, Ireland will turn dry with sunny spells, though showery rain will continue advancing east.

Clinging onto warm sunshine in the east still, with temperatures still reaching the high-twenties in parts, with rain arriving late in the night or into Wednesday morning.

What's coming up in the news

In recent years, summer in Greece has resulted in widespread wildfires, with 2024 no different. Get the latest on the situation and how the weather is impacting efforts to control the fires later this morning.
