Tropical Storm Yagi, known locally as Enteng, has ravaged parts of the Philippines with torrential rain and flooding.

The tropical storm passed to the north-east of the Quezon province, south-east of Manila, in the northern Philippines, triggering flash floods and landslides across the region.

Yagi made landfall in Casiguran, Luzon during the early hours of Monday morning, September 2nd.

At least ten have been reported dead so far, with hundreds evacuated. Yagi is forecast to strengthen to a typhoon over the South China Sea in the coming days, before reaching Hainan, China and Vietnam.

Approximately 20 tropical storms batter the Philippines each year on average. It is also located in the "Pacific Ring of Fire", home to many earthquakes and volcanoes, making it one of the most disaster-prone regions in the world.
