Third heatwave takes grip

Temperature radar of the UK and Ireland with heat warning, highs of 30+ degrees in England and Wales.Highs on the TemperatureRadar Friday reach 30 °C+.

Heat-health warnings are in effect as the latest heatwave truly takes grip of the UK.

The warnings came into effect Thursday, and currently extend into next Tuesday, across every region of England with yellow alerts.

What does it mean?

Heat-health warnings are issued by the UK Health Security Agency. A yellow alert indicates "Significant impacts are possible across health and social care services due to the high temperatures."

With highs of over 30 °C to end the week, the heat persists into the weekend but peaks on Friday.

It is slightly cooler, but still hot elsewhere in the UK. Scotland and Northern Ireland are likely to also see heatwaves, with the threshold slightly lower in the two countries. A period of three consecutive days at 25 °C+ is required here.
