Weekend weather
Intense heat as temperatures reach >30°C

Warming up by Sunday with temperatures in the high-twenties.

A short-lived hot spell is on the way, as temperatures are expected to soar to around 30°C.

Cloudy to start Saturday across large parts of England and Wales with patchy spells of rain around, chiefly further west.

However as the day wears on, skies will clear in the south through the late afternoon, leaving it increasingly dry and sunny across the board.

It's not until Sunday however that the heat really gets going. Temperatures are expected to widely soar into the high-twenties across England and Wales, perhaps locally reaching around 30°C in the south-east of England, with a similar story for Monday too.

Cooler to the north and west though, with temperatures in the high-teens or low-twenties in contrast. Cloudier for Ireland too, with spells of rain and brisk winds moving in.

The heat looks to persist into Monday too, though some severe thunderstorms look likely to break out later in the day.
