The mercury is continuing to rise through the day, as we could see the hottest day of the year so far.

The date record for 30th July is currently held at 33.3°C from the years of 1948 and 1995, quite some time ago.

While we may not break this record, we could certainly make the hottest day of the year so far, which stands at 31.9°C from Friday 19th July of this year.
