Amidst the warm weather
The colours of the TemperatureRadar

temperatureradar teaser

With summer in full swing, do you know how to interpret the different colours of the TemperatureRadar?

The TemperatureRadar allows you to visualise temperature conditions all around the world using detailed colour shading.

The static colour scale, which can be viewed by pressing the (i) button at the bottom right corner of the map. The scale bar provides a uniform view and remains constant throughout the year as a universal reference.

Colours range from white and grey at very low temperatures to represent extreme cold, to then purple, dark and light blue (the freezing point at 0°C) to green colour hues for values slightly above freezing.

Above 10°C, the colour turns from yellow to orange, eventually reaching red hues at around 20 °C. Even higher temperature values are shown in dark to light pink, which are often reached in equatorial areas or during heatwaves.

Did you know?

In iOS the TemperatureRadar units are driven via the language settings of your phone, but in Android can be changed via Info & Settings inside the app, and can be changed between imperial (Fahrenheit) and metric (Celsius) .

Shading & values together

In addition to the shaded fields, you can quickly reference temperature conditions for your location by using the labels above the city names. Each figure represents the temperature value at this location at the given time on the slide bar.

Present, and future temperatures

As well as current conditions, you can also explore the forecasted temperatures by toggling the interactive slider at the bottom of the map.

You can zoom in to get a more detailed picture, or zoom out and pan across the screen to see temperatures around the world.
