Persistent, heavy rain across western Scotland on Wednesday and Thursday sees a widespread flood risk.

Following downpours in the area on Tuesday afternoon, which may turn thundery, more sustained rainfall is forecast across western Scotland and the Western Isles mid-week.

Flood risks, released by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) in partnership with the Met Office, cover much of the country's western coast from Dumfries and Galloway up to Ross and Cromarty.

Weather warnings

Additionally, weather warnings for rainfall also cover the area.

Take precautions ahead of time if you are in part of the country within these warning zones, the flood risk will also extend into Thursday.
