Weather trend
Warm spells, but some rain at times, too

Areas of high pressure and some frontal systems will alternate throughout most of the week, bringing a mixed weather pattern.

Wednesday will see plenty of fine and dry weather across most of the UK thanks to a passing ridge of high pressure.

This will be short-lived, however, as a new Atlantic weather fronts are expected to affect Ireland and western Scotland later in the day, eventually crossing most of Britain during the day Thursday.

Winds will once again be a prominent features as well for many, though not as intense as with Storm "Floris".

This rather unsettled pattern is set to continue into Friday and the weekend, with the best of any dry and sunny periods further south, while the north could see more frequent cloud and outbreaks of rain.

This is also being reflected in the rainfall amounts, with a bit of a north-south split through the week.

Temperatures meanwhile will mostly remain around or just above the average for the time of year, with a chance of some very warm spells across the south in particular.

High pressure could eventually become a little more dominant towards the middle of the month, with an increasing chance of some sunny weather, though with rain or showers affecting northern areas as well.
