Breakfast brief
Rain and blustery winds push east

A series of weather fronts will be driving in spells of heavy rain from the west.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, preparing you for the day's weather, and offering a sneak peak at today's articles.

Weather outlook

Through the morning extensive cloud will thicken from the west, with outbreaks of rain driving in alongside blustery winds.

Rain looks to be heaviest in the north and west, particularly across Scotland and Northern England during the afternoon, with more widespread showery outbreaks of rain still expected elsewhere.
