Weather outlook

The day begins dry for most areas aside from in western Scotland where light, but persistent, rainfall pushes in. This becomes more scattered into the afternoon before spreading again tonight.

Growing winds will be the main feature of the day for those in northern parts of the UK and Ireland, which spread from the north-west of Scotland southwards throughout the day. Strongest gusts of 50 mph to be seen in western Scotland on the WindRadar.

For Wales and much of England, it is a calm, dry day ahead, with highs of approaching 27°C in and around London.
