Breakfast brief - Largely dry but a lot of cloud around

A largely dry day to come as high pressure centres overhead, keeping rain at bay through the day.

Some patches of mist and fog around to start the day, chiefly further south. Otherwise a broadly dry, settled day ahead with a fair amount of cloud. The odd spot of light rain cannot be ruled out though.

Mild with highs in the mid-teens. A strengthening breeze across northern Scotland overnight, with some rain later edging in to north-west fringes.
