Breakfast brief
Hotter in the west & thunderstorms

Staying very warm with temperatures hitting the high-20s in the west, with a risk of thunderstorms.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to your breakfast brief, preparing you for the day's weather, and offering a sneak peek at today's articles.

Weather outlook

Another hot or very warm day to come for western areas, with temperatures hitting the high-twenties. A fraction cooler in the east, but still warm with temperatures hovering around the mid-twenties, a good five degrees or so lower than Tuesday.

Worcester could hit 29°C or even 30°C, with 28°C expected in Bristol and Poole.

Some showers look to break out through the day in places too, with a risk of sharp bursts or thunderstorms from the evening across south-east England, with the risk continuing and intensifying through the night.

Some heavy downpours and frequent bursts of lightning are possible in this area, perhaps encroaching into parts of East Anglia too.
