Heathrow & Kew hit 32°C
Hottest day of year recorded

As temperatures soared to 32°C on Tuesday 30th July, it was provisionally the hottest day of the year so far.

London Heathrow and Kew Gardens both saw the mercury rise to 32°C on Tuesday late afternoon, making it the hottest day of the year so far, narrowly beating the previous of 31.9°C from the 19th of July.

The date record for the 30th remains unbroken however, by over a degree. The figure for 30th July 2024 remains provisional until officially checked.

The coming days will remain warm, possibly still hot and around 29°C or 30°C across western parts of England on Wednesday, ahead of a thundery breakdown.
