Breakfast brief
Feeling fresher across the board

A fresher day to come, with the risk of some rain for some.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, your first look at the day's forecast and a sneak peek of today's articles.

Weather outlook

The morning will see some showery rain across parts of England, especially further south and east. The bulk of this clearing by around midday, though some lingering showers expected around London and East Anglia.

Elsewhere will see a fine day with sunny spells, a fresher and cooler day than recent days, with peak temperatures only getting into the low-twenties for most.

Heading into the evening cloud and rain will move into Ireland, tracking into western Scotland later in the night and bringing some brisk winds.

What's coming up in the news

Your regular mid-week weather trend arrives later this afternoon with all you need to know for the days and weeks ahead. Plus, more insights into weather events at home and abroad throughout the day.
