Have you heard that the weekend will be a hot one yet? Temperatures are passing 30 degrees in the UK but it's still cooler with rain in places too.

While the headline of the bank holiday weekend in the UK is certainly highs of around 32 °C in the south-east by Monday, away from the south-east there's a dip to start the weekend on Saturday.

London can expect a high of around 29 °C but elsewhere expect a few degrees lower than Friday before things ramp back up into Monday. Meanwhile, Ireland is still seeing highs in the upper-teens with only the east touching 20.

Bright sunshine beams down on much of England but it remains quite dull across Ireland and parts of Scotland where rain continues to fall too. In western Scotland temperatures won't get much warmer than 15 °C.

It is all thanks to high pressure sitting over western Europe, delivering the largely dry, sunny, and unseasonably warm weather to England, while a low over the Atlantic is still influencing things in the west.

By Sunday, clouds clear from the east and south of Ireland and Wales but heavier rain falls in Scotland before the Monday scorcher. Highs could possibly rival the all-time record, and sunscreen will be a necessity throughout the coming days.
