Weather trend
A mix of rainy spells and warm sunshine

This week will see rather unsettled weather for many as Atlantic low pressure remains influential. However, warm and sunny spells are also likely, especially in the south.

Wednesday looks set to be a drier and quieter day as a weak ridge of high pressure brings some more settled weather for a time.

However, a weakening weather front will bring more extensive cloud and some rain to parts of Ireland and the far south-west of England.

Sunny spells are expected across many parts of Britain on Thursday, with temperatures rising to above average once again in the Southeast.

Things are however likely to be more changeable in Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with more in the way of cloud and some rain or showers at times.

Little change is expected on Friday with a mix of Sun and cloud as well as scattered showers, some perhaps thundery.

Another area of low pressure could then dominate our weekend weather, with more widespread showers and some thunderstorms, interspersed by drier and brighter spells.

Some of the rain may be heavy, especially across more western and southwestern parts of Ireland and the UK.

Into early next week and first indications seem to suggest more changeable weather, with some heavy rain or showers at times, but warm, sunny spells, too.

Temperatures should mostly remain just above normal for the time of year, with highs of 25 °C or more, most likely to the south and east.
