Weather trend
Mainly fine, showers in some areas, too

While high pressure will remain dominant for many, some rain or showers could affect the west and south at times.

The weekend will bring a bit of an east-west split, as high pressure centred just north of Scotland will keep things mainly settled.

Western and southwestern parts of the UK as well as most of Ireland can expect more sunshine, with temperatures once again above the average.

Further east, meanwhile, cloud cover should be more widespread and there could even be some mist or fog around some North Sea coasts at times.

Into early next week and high pressure retains its influence, bringing more dry and settled weather for many, albeit with cooler air as winds tend to be mostly from the north or northeast.

A few parts of Ireland, southwestern and southern England could however see more changeable conditions with scattered showers or thunderstorms at times.

Elsewhere, little, if any rain is expected throughout next week, bar a few light showers or some drizzle near the North Sea and in northern Scotland.

Details are uncertain from the middle of next week onwards, however, as Hurricane Erin over the Atlantic may get a stronger influence on our weather later on.

Whether or not more unsettled and showery conditions become more widespread during the second half of next week remains to be seen, so be sure to keep an eye on your local forecast.
