Storm conditions continue for the start of the week as another low-pressure system brings strong gusts and rain to the UK and Ireland.

After rain throughout Monday, gusts grow in strength again into Tuesday reaching up to 75 mph in the west and north of Scotland.

Widespread gusts range from 40 to 50 mph across much of Ireland and the UK away from the south-east.

Conditions gradually settled by Thursday with a calmer day. Showers are frequent for many, though with brighter spells on Tuesday.

Clouds gather by Thursday returning us to a more dull feeling, with temperatures hovering around the seasonal average, warmest across central to eastern England.

The cloudy days carry us into the weekend with patchy rain around and a chance of morning fog for some.
