Weather outlook - Sunny and warm, with rain to the west

The outlook for the week is looking sunny and warm for much of the UK, although for Ireland it remains somewhat changeable with strong winds.

Patchy rain does move in to the west in the coming days, but for many it will be a good start to spring with plenty of sunshine and temperatures climbing once again.

It's still cooler in Ireland, with temperatures dropping overnight bringing another frosty start to Tuesday.

More significant rainfall moves into Ireland for Thursday thanks to a frontal system arriving from the Atlantic after a cloudy Wednesday.

Following this band of rain, skies clear once again though the day as a whole sees strong gusting winds.
