Wet and stormy
Isaias remnants influence the week

Weather map at 06:00 on 13.10 showing a blue cold front extending from Scotland through Wales, with rain bands across the UK and Ireland.
A cold front brings a change through Tuesday morning.

The week brings spells of very autumnal weather, along with stormy periods with warnings already live in some areas.

Tuesday sees a cold front moving from west to east in the morning, heralding changeable conditions in its wake. This includes heavy, thundery showers in Northern Ireland and Scotland later in the day.

Strong winds remain a factor, particularly in exposed coastal areas to the west. Temperatures are quite mild, but the wind and rain will cool things where they hit.

By Wednesday, the winds are still a factor, this time due to a very deep low pressure system, remnants of Hurricane Isaias, moving between Iceland and Scotland. This brings gales and rain to Ireland, and western to northern regions of the UK.

Elsewhere, sunny spells mix with isolated showers with temperatures still slightly above average. Thursday sees a slight bump, possibly up to 22°C locally in the south-east of England.

Otherwise, the week ends still rather grey and wet before a trend towards drier and settled conditions in the weekend thanks to high pressure becoming dominant.
