Winds and rain to ease later

Brisk winds along eastern coastal fringes to start the day.

A low sat out to the east will continue to drive in spells of rain, with winds gradually moderating.

Weather outlook

A blustery start across eastern fringes, especially coastal Norfolk and Suffolk with winds initially gusting to 40 - 45 mph locally around the likes of Cromer and Lowestoft during the early morning.

Winds will moderate as the day goes on, albeit staying blustery for many. Outbreaks of rain will linger in the east for much of the day however, heavier at first, before gradually dissipating through the evening.

Getting chilly under clear skies furthest west, with temperatures across Ireland widely getting down to 3°C to 5°C, with a patchy frost possible in spots.
