Weekend weather
Clearer skies but temperatures cool

Influence from low-pressure keeps conditions unsettled.

A spell of unsettled conditions marks the weekend across the UK and Ireland as temperatures finally start to fall.

Saturday: Clear skies and mild warmth

After a cloudy start with scattered rain, cloud cover does clear during the day. First over Ireland for a brief period before the next band of rain, but staying clear into the evening for England.

Temperatures remain mostly mild, with highs in the low- to mid-teens on a calm day, despite a change overnight.

Sunday: Overnight gusts, a chillier start

In the early hours, stronger winds push into western Ireland thanks to low-pressure but ease again as the sunrises with rain moving east towards the UK.

From around noon, the next band of rain reaches western areas of the UK, with mild winds in tow.

Temperatures also dip by Sunday, down to lows of 5 °C across eastern England, and 2 °C for Aberdeen.

Monday: Calmer with heavier rain

By Monday, the gusts fade once more, although heavier rainfall is expected, which could result in surface flooding to start the week.
