Gales in UK and Ireland overnight

Weather warnings for strong, gusting winds are active on Tuesday, notably along the far western coasts of the UK, and likewise for eastern Ireland.

Gusts reach up to 45 mph in southern Ireland from the early afternoon, with the low-pressure system responsible gradually stretching across both countries this evening.

These become gales approaching 50 mph in western Scotland around Portree on the WindRadar around midnight.
