Weather trend
Changeable, but fine spells for some

The unsettled pattern is set to continue with a mixture of showery rain and some warm summer sunshine as temperatures remain close to average.

A ridge of the Azores high pressure remains dominant to our southwest, while low pressure systems are more influential just to our north and east.

This pattern will steer more Atlantic weather fronts our way this week and beyond, with spells of rain or showers at times.

Some areas may experience heavy, thundery downpours, particularly around the upcoming weekend.

However, there will be fine spells with some warm sunshine as well, mainly across more southern and eastern parts of the UK, where temperatures could reach up to 25 °C on some days.

The unsettled and sometimes fairly windy weather pattern looks set to continue into the first week of August as high pressure with drier weather conditions seems to stay to our southwest.

Looking further ahead, there are some signs of a slow change towards a drier and warmer spell developing, though probably not before the middle of next week.

As usual, keep checking the forecast for any changes in the next couple of days or to time any sunny and warm breaks.
