Weather trend
Changeable weather, windy at times

The unsettled and at times slightly autumnal weather is set to continue throughout this week, with rain, strong winds and some brighter spells, too.

Low pressure systems remain dominant until Thursday, bringing a mix of rain or showers, some heavy and thundery, as well as some brighter interludes as well.

Strong winds will also be a feature for some, particularly across southwestern and southern parts of the UK on Wednesday.

There could be a break in this unsettled pattern for many on Friday and Saturday as high pressure is likely to build across the near continent for a time.

However, another large Atlantic weather system may arrive in Ireland and the UK on Sunday, bringing more rain and even some thunderstorms.

Temperatures will mostly remain around or slightly below average through most of the week and it may feel cool at times, especially factoring in the wind.

However, a brief warm spell this weekend seems likely to the south and east, with temperatures perhaps reaching 24 or 25°C in a few areas.
