Breakfast brief
Weather fronts drive in spells of rain

Rain and brisk winds will be edging in from the west, as weather fronts advance eastwards.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, offering your daily weather forecast and a sneak peek at the day's news.

Weather outlook

Some mist and fog patches across England and Wales to start the day, but an otherwise largely fine day to come for much of this region through the day with sunny spells.

In the west however, a weather front will be driving in a band of heavy rain to Ireland and Northern Ireland, with some showery rain developing ahead of this across western portions of England and Wales.

Brisk winds will be moving in too. Later in the day rain will advance eastwards into the rest of the UK, continuing its track overnight.
