Thunderstorm potential across the UK

Thunderstorms look set to break out from midday.

Low-level thunderstorm warnings are live across England and southern Wales today, with heavy downpours joining gales in the south.

Five flood alerts are also live, issued by the Environment Agency, primarily around the Dartmoor area, with a further risk of surface level flooding in eastern Scotland around Aberdeen.

Thunderstorms could begin to bubble up from midday, with conditions ripe into the afternoon.
