Flood alerts in parts of England

Weather radar image captured at 11:10 am showing heavy rain over south-east England with a flood warning icon. Downpours pass over by the afternoon but are causing floods.

Multiple flood alerts are live, mostly across southern England, as heavy rain sweeps over the country.

Some 72 alerts and warnings are currently live, with the highest risk seen in parts of Dorset, passing rain Wednesday morning pushes rivers and other waterways to bursting.

Earlier in the week, south-west England and southern Wales saw high rainfall amounts, with 103 mm falling at White Barrow, Devon in the 24 hours from Sunday to Monday and 105 mm in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
