Summer may be over, but as autumn rolls in, we're taking one last look at the season before we leave it for the history books.

With an active period for geomagnetic storms delivering spectacular auroras, glimmering noctilucent clouds, and rainbows amid the seasonal sights, it was a cooler than usual summer but just as memorable.
