High UV levels accompany heat

Temperatures are rising across the UK on Monday, and UV levels are heightened too, with high levels across England.

London is set to see the warmest temperatures, with a high of around 27°C on Monday afternoon, but UV levels across the country are reaching highs of 6.

Staying sun safe

Any UV Index level at three or above is considered harmful, with a risk of burning within 30-60 minutes in direct sunlight.

At this level, sunscreen should be worn when out in direct sunlight. In Ireland, a cloudy start to the week and rain sees lower, but still moderate UV levels.
