The all-time temperature record could be shattered in Spain on Wednesday, breaking the previous record of 47.3C in Montoro.

Across Europe there seems to be a reversal of fortunes with temperatures, with heat gripping western Europe, whilst eastern Europe cools off a little.

A plume of exceptionally hot air is currently setting in across Iberia, having travelled northwards from North Africa.

Temperatures are forecast to soar to around 45-47C across the likes of Seville and Badajoz this week, with the peak of the heatwave looking to be on Wednesday July 13th and Thursday July 14th.

With the current all-time temperature record sat at 47.3C, it is quite possible that this record could be broken.
