Breakfast brief
Rain clearing to a finer, colder picture

An unsettled start to the day as the last of the rain clears, giving way to brighter skies and a colder night to come.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, offering your daily weather forecast and a sneak peek at the day's news.

Weather outlook

Early morning rain will continue to remain heavy in the south and east, with a risk of flooding for the morning commute in parts.

Rain will clear south-eastwards through the day, lastly from East Anglia and the south-east, giving way to fine weather with plenty of sunny spells.

A chilly night to come under widely clear skies, with temperatures getting down to 2°C to 4°C for many, and around zero locally further north with a touch of frost possible.
