During the night, the Northern Lights were visible in many places in Central and Northern Europe.

On Monday night, the Northern Lights could be seen in the skies over central and northern Europe. They were particularly visible in parts of Scandinavia and in some regions of Germany.

Did you know?

The Northern Lights are a phenomenon that is most commonly observed at high latitudes, particularly in Northern Europe. Further south in Central Europe, the Northern Lights can only be seen occasionally with a lot of luck.

The Northern Lights are caused by the sun constantly ejecting plasma into space. When the plasma particles collide with the Earth's magnetic field, they are deflected towards the North and South Poles. There, they enter the Earth's atmosphere and cause air molecules to glow.
