Netherland's tulip route
Now is the best time to see the tulips!

Spring has sprung and that means that many tulip fields are blooming again across the Netherlands.

Large plots full of fresh green fields, orchards and blooming tulips colour the landscape. From April 7th to April 28th you can follow the tulip route in the province of Flevoland.

The route passes the most beautiful and colourful tulip fields in the Flevopolder and attracts countless enthusiasts and photographers.

Despite the cold weather there lately, you can still enjoy the beautiful flowers here with some sunshine. The tulip bulbs were only able to get into the ground very late this year due to the large amounts of rain. Because of the continued heavy rain since, the tulip harvest is not as good everywhere.

In some tulip fields, there are far fewer tulips because they have been drowned and suffocated. Fortunately though, things have ended well for most tulip growers, resulting in a beautiful landscape.

People around the world flock to see the tulips and thousands of photos are taken every day. Even along the route from plot to plot there are several places to get a bite to eat or something to drink too.

But, the beautiful tulip plots will soon be gone in the coming week. Due to the warm start in April, many tulips started blooming a little earlier and have stopped blooming pretty quickly too. If you want to catch them you should do so before May, before they go.
