Breakfast brief
More settled, with sunshine and showers

A more settled day to come with plenty of sunshine and a few showers in the mix.

Kickstarting your morning

Welcome to the breakfast brief, offering your daily weather forecast and a sneak peek at the day's news.

Weather outlook

Dry with plenty of sunshine across the UK and Ireland, with a few showers developing, chiefly in the west.

Showers look to be most prevalent across Wales and south-west England, dissipating later in the day to leave a largely dry and clear night. Patchy mist and fog may form later though.

What's coming up in the news

Fog returns today in parts of the country, we're having a closer look at the current picture later this morning. Plus, news from Switzerland where concerns over glacier melt continue.
