Early heavy rain will persist across large parts of Northern England and Scotland in particular, though with outbreaks of rain still affecting many across the UK and Ireland through the day.

Despite the rain it will be a mild day, with temperatures perhaps reaching 20°C or 21°C in London, with high teens widely elsewhere.

Tending to turn drier across Ireland later in the day, though with heavy pulses of rain persisting into the overnight period across much of the UK, with a mild night to come.
