Isolated strikes here
Storms across Europe mostly miss UK

Thunderstorms are spreading across Europe on Wednesday.

Widespread thunderstorms currently raging over western continental Europe have mostly missed the UK.

While an initial risk was expected in the far south-east of England, only smaller outbreaks have developed in the UK, mostly in the north-east and across Northern Ireland.

Instead, the outbreak spreads from France to the Netherlands on the other side of the channel.
