Weather warnings are in effect today, with heavy rain and strong winds both impacting Ireland and parts of the UK.

Simultaneously, gusting winds are growing stronger, with up to 50 mph (80 kph) expected in Belmullet, and exposed parts of western Ireland, and the Western Isles of Scotland.
