Halloween weekend outlook
Chilly but mostly settled conditions

Some clear spells but showers sweep through on Halloween night

Costumes at the ready? The weather is looking suitably spooky for Halloween weekend with a chill in the air for trick or treaters.

Saturday begins with widespread fog once again across parts of England and Wales which will be slow to lift. After clearing, Halloween itself with be mostly overcast with a few sunny spells mostly for northern England and Wales and south-eastern Scotland.

Temperatures for the evening remain in the low double-digits across much of Ireland and eastern Scotland, and around London, with overnight fog building by the early evening in the south-west of Ireland and north-east of England.

Elsewhere there will be a chillier feeling so pack a jacket to throw over your costume if heading out, particularly with showers moving south-east through Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland in the evening.

Into Sunday and the gloomy, cloudy conditions persist across England and Wales with little sunshine to be seen. Brighter across Ireland away from the north-west and parts of Scotland. Some areas around Glasgow may see morning frost but it's generally dry.

By Monday, high pressure is moving over the UK and Ireland, heralding more settled weather for the start of the week.
