Gloomy shift
Dry start with passing rainfall for some

Cloud cover with light rain pushing across the UK on Thursday.

A dry start to the day across the UK, which shifts with a band of light rain pushing south-west through England and Wales by midday.

This cloud cover spreads coast-to-coast, bringing gloomy conditions ahead of the rain which begins to break apart towards the afternoon.

Rainfall should be light, and increasingly showery, with little indication of continued thunderstorms seen in recent days.
