Weather trend
Mainly fine at first, some rain later

High pressure remains in charge through Thursday at least, with mainly settled weather. An Atlantic front could then bring some wetter conditions later on.

The next few days are going to see more calm and often dry weather with a mix of sunshine and some cloudier periods.

However, far eastern and southeastern parts of England could be affected by some showers at times.

Temperatures are going to remain just below average through mid-week, with chilly mornings for some, especially in rural areas.

A slow warming trend is then likely later this week as winds slowly turn back to a more southerly quarter.

Other than that it will remain largely fine and dry, though with some thicker cloud affecting eastern parts of the UK at times.

A new weather front could then bring some rain across Ireland on Friday before slowly moving east into Britain on Saturday.

Details on the timing and evolution of this feature are uncertain at this stage, so be sure to keep an eye on your local forecast for this weekend.

Temperature-wise, things should warm up a little again early next week for many.
