Wet and windy too - Mild air in control

After winter took grip last week with sub-zero lows creating icy conditions, mild air has moved in, raising temperatures back into double-digits.

The warmer air has swept in from the Atlantic, bringing winder and wet weather in tow.

With scattered rainfall on Monday, successive rain bands move through from the west daily, becoming widespread across Ireland and much of the UK by Thursday.

Warnings are still active in Scotland for the strong winds, with rain joining melting snow, resulting in elevated flood risks too.
