Hottest day of the year so far expected

Expected temperature highs on Thursday.

Peak temperatures on Thursday afternoon look set to make the day the hottest of the year so far.

Currently, a high of 29.4°C recorded in Santon Downham, West Suffolk is the high point of 2025. London is expected to peak at around 32°C in the afternoon, with highs of 30°C also set to be met across England.

In Ireland, the current hottest day of the year was set April 30th with a high of 25.9°C in Athenry, Galway. This record also looks set to be broken on Friday, with a chance of seeing 26°C in both Dublin and Galway.
